Hey there!
I’m Sophia—born and raised in Mexico (proud latina), where my passion for tech started early. At 12, I was already building and selling websites to fandoms and bands, combining my love for music with coding (HTML/CSS/JS) to create something fun and creative. After high school, I explored my passion for music production, but technology kept calling me back.
A trip to the Netherlands sparked a love affair with Amsterdam, so I packed my bags, and 10 years later, I’m still happily living here. I started off working for companies like TomTom and Viacom, but I eventually decided to return to my tech roots. After graduating in AI, I joined Liberty Global’s grad scheme, where I’ve worn many hats—data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, and now AI engineer. Recently, I’ve been building AI and GenAI apps for Formula E, which has been a thrilling experience!
Innovation, experimentation, and collaboration drive my work. I love diving into new projects and finding creative ways to solve problems.
I’m incredibly passionate about women’s rights and bringing more gender representation to STEM. As the Community Manager for Women in AI, I’m dedicated to empowering women and creating opportunities for others to thrive in this space.
Outside of work, I’m still a singer, a proud fur-mom with my partner, and always looking for exciting projects and prototypes to explore.
PS. Wondering why my name is different everywhere? I have a dual nationality and in each passport my name is spelled a little bit different. Weird huh?
